GratiTuesday: Jerusha Dressel, ’17

“With four younger siblings and one starting college this fall, scholarships means a lot to me and my family. Attending a  private Christian institution like Whitworth was a dream of mine. However, one of my greatest fears when I chose Whitworth was that my choice would become so much of a financial burden to my parents that it would limit my brothers’ and sisters’ choices in schools. My twelve year-old brother looks up to me a lot and frequently tells me that he wants to go to Whitworth like me and major in mathematics. I want my younger siblings to dream big and set goals for themselves. This scholarship not only enables me to continue my dream of attending Whitworth, but also indirectly enables my younger brothers and sisters by freeing up financial resources that will help them chase their dreams.”

Thank you for supporting Whitworth students! Learn how your gifts to scholarships and The Whitworth Fund make a difference for students like Jerusha.
