Why I Serve
Growing up, my family taught us that our purpose in life is to serve our community and to help make the world a better place for everyone. We are called to “do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.”
How I Serve
Currently, I serve as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Center for Justice, a Spokane-based nonprofit legal advocacy organization. We use the power of the law, public policy, and media to create solutions that benefit all in the many communities of Spokane. Our solutions address many aspects of a just, vital, and thriving community including housing, drivers re-licensing, re-entry from incarceration, civil rights, prisoner rights, land use, government accountability, and the environment. We also provide direct client representation. I am doing this work now because I am passionate about the mission and work of the Center for Justice, I love nonprofit board work, and I love being active in retirement.
